GRANT, Justice.

Ward W. Hayden appeals from a determination by the district court that his present state of dangerousness requires continued confinement at the Lincoln Regional Center. The court made this determination following a hearing pursuant to Neb.Rev.Stat. § 29-3703 (Reissue 1989). That statute provides for annual review of the mental condition of persons who have been found not responsible for crimes because of insanity and have been confined
