The defendant appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of criminal attempt to commit robbery in the first degree while armed with a deadly weapon in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-49 (a) (2), 53a-133 and 53a-134 (a) (2). The defendant claims that the trial court (1) improperly permitted the defendant's witness to invoke his fifth amendment privilege in the jury's presence...
