BELL, Justice.

Dewey Bowley was convicted of the murder of Donald Caldwell and of motor-vehicle theft, but was acquitted of armed robbery. Bowley obtained new counsel, who filed a motion for new trial, contending, inter alia, that Bowley received ineffective assistance of counsel at trial.
