On December 18, 1987, Andrew Allen was hitchhiking some 110 miles to his home after work on a job site as a plumber. While on State Route 17 in the Town of Kirkwood, Broome County, a car containing defendant and Vern Hall stopped for Allen. When Allen entered the car, defendant left the front seat to sit with him in the back. Allen rebuffed what he thought was a homosexual advance, failing to realize...
