We granted the employer's request for discretionary appeal to review the order of the superior court affirming an award in favor of the claimant by the State Board of Workers' Compensation (the "board"). Claimant, Joshua L. Starks, was employed by McLeroy Plumbing Service in 1986 as a plumber's helper. That position involved manual labor, including the lifting of certain heavy pipes.
