BACKGROUND

Defendant was charged by information with aggravated assault and indicted on one count of sexual assault, one count of aggravated assault, one count of burglary in the first degree, and one count of kidnapping. The charges related to incidents on February 14 and 25, 1988, which were consolidated for trial.
