A jury in the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County (Lerner, J.) acquitted appellant, Wilbert Powell, of first degree murder but convicted him of armed robbery (technically, robbery with a deadly or dangerous weapon, Md. Code Ann., art. 27, § 488), attempted armed robbery, robbery, attempted robbery, assault with intent to rob, theft, attempted theft, assault and battery, and assault.
