The respondent mother1 appeals from a judgment terminating her parental rights with respect to her minor daughter, Megan, pursuant to a petition filed by the department of children and youth services (DCYS) in accordance with General Statutes § 17-43a (b) (4) (now § 17a-112 [b] [4]).2
