The defendant appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of escape from custody in violation of General Statutes § 53a-171.1 The defendant claims that the trial court improperly allowed a treating psychiatrist from the Bridgeport correctional center to testify as a state's witness concerning matters that were protected by the psychiatrist-patient privilege.
