Appellant Matthews and a co-defendant, Timothy Roberson, were convicted of distributing cocaine, in violation of D.C.Code § 33-541(a)(1) (1988). The government's evidence established that Matthews and Roberson sold a quantity of crack cocaine, which Matthews touted as "good stuff," to an undercover police officer.
