Eddie Lawrence (defendant) was charged by bill of information with driving while intoxicated (DWI), third offense, LSA-R.S. 14:98. After entering a not guilty plea, defendant filed a motion to quash the bill of information insofar as it sought to enhance the charge using two prior DWI convictions as predicates. He contends those pleas were "constitutionally and statutorily defective" and, more specifically, that the pleas were entered into in violation...
