The plaintiff, Earl G. Pitre, Jr. was injured in a sledding accident on campus while a student at Louisiana Tech University. The plaintiff and his parents, Earl G. Pitre, Sr. and Joan Pitre, filed suit against the defendants, Louisiana Tech University and the State of Louisiana, through the Board of Trustees for State Colleges and Universities, for damages and loss of consortium.
