The State of Montana filed a request under the Uniform Criminal Extradition Act, AS 12.70, to have James Evans returned to Montana to face a felony charge of issuing bad checks. Acting upon Montana's request, the governor of Alaska issued a warrant for Evans's arrest and extradition to Montana pursuant to AS 12.70.060-.070.
