The defendant, Ralph Hrobowski, was charged by indictment with four counts of first-degree murder (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, pars. 9-1(a)(1), (a)(2)) in connection with the stabbing death of Sharon Myrick. A jury found the defendant guilty of first-degree murder, and the court sentenced defendant to a term of 50 years' imprisonment.
