Plaintiffs brought this action against defendants J. Robert James (James) and Elmo Meiners (Meiners) to recover damages from the sale of unregistered securities in violation of section 13 of the Illinois Securities Law of 1953 (Securities Law) (Ill.Rev.Stat.1983, ch. 121½, par. 137.13).
