Appellant, Renell Williams, was charged by bill of information on November 29, 1989 with simple robbery, a violation of La.R.S. 14:65. At his arraignment on December 15, 1989 he entered a plea of not guilty. At his trial on May 16, 1990, Williams was found guilty by unanimous verdict of a six-member jury and he was sentenced on June 22, 1990 to three years at hard labor, with credit for time served.
