The four defendants were tried together by a jury for offenses involving cocaine and other illegal drugs, and all were convicted. José Martinez was sentenced to 262 months in prison and the three other defendants — Alphonso Soto, Salvador Garcia, and Gloria Zafiro — to 151 months each even though the jury had acquitted Zafiro of possession with intent to distribute and convicted her...
