Following the entry of a default against the defendant, Terry L. Hopkins, Inc. (Hopkins), a judgment was entered in the Superior Court (Cumberland County, Brodrick, J.) pursuant to a jury verdict awarding the plaintiff, Steven H. Hart, $250,000 in damages for his claim under the Jones Act, 46 U.S.C.App. § 688 (1975), for personal injuries allegedly suffered by Hart while an employee of Hopkins.
