Eric Barclay (defendant) was charged by grand jury indictment with aggravated rape. La.R.S. 14:42. Defendant pleaded not guilty to the original charge. However, in accordance with a plea bargain, he withdrew his plea of not guilty and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit aggravated rape. La.R.S. 14:26 and 14:42. The record reflects that, pursuant to the plea bargain, the state agreed to dismiss all other criminal charges then pending against defendant...
