We consider whether in an appeal by writ of error the absence from the record of proof of notice of the trial court's dismissal constitutes error on the face of the record. The court of appeals reversed the dismissal by the trial court and remanded for further proceedings. 795 S.W.2d 21. Because lack of notice is not apparent from the face of the record and must be established by extrinsic evidence...
