The defendant, Corey Bourgeois, was charged with Simple Robbery (LSA-R.S. 14:65). He pled not guilty and was tried by a jury and was found guilty as charged. Following the trial court's denial of the defendant's motion for a new trial Bourgeois was sentenced to eighteen months in the parish prison.
