ROGERS, Chief Judge:

Appellant Linell Freeman appeals his conviction for assault with a dangerous weapon, D.C.Code § 22-502 (1989 Repl.), and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence, id. § 22-3204(b) (1991 Supp.), on the ground that the former conviction must be vacated because it merges with the latter conviction. We affirm.
