Hidalgo Motors, Inc., and Harold Hidalgo, individually, filed suit to recover rent and damages, alleging their lessees, Opelousas Courtesy Motors, Inc., Don P. Hargroder and Glenn Melvin, breached either a three-year lease, which was renewed for an additional three years, or alternatively, a new ten-year verbal lease. The trial court rejected plaintiffs' demand for rent, finding defendants were leasing the property on a month to month basis...
