Under 18 U.S.C. § 924(e)(1), the sentence of a person convicted of violating 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1) (possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon) is enhanced if the person has three previous convictions for a "violent felony," which the statute defines to include "burglary".
