Justice McMORROW delivered the opinion of the court:

Defendant and his co-defendant, Thomas Michael Harris, were tried simultaneously before two juries. Following trial, defendant was convicted of two counts of delivery of a controlled substance and sentenced to concurrent terms of six years imprisonment. On appeal, defendant contends that he was denied his constitutional right to effective assistance of counsel.
