Defendant Melvin C. Karmenzind was charged with one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 12-14(b)(1)). The complainant in the case is the defendant's son, C.K. The defendant pleaded not guilty, and his pretrial motion for a bill of particulars was denied. Tried before a jury, the defendant was found guilty. His two post-trial motions for a new trial were denied, and he was sentenced...
