The defendant, Rodney L. Edwards, was charged by bill of information with possession of cocaine, a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, in violation of La. R.S. 40:967 C(2). He pled guilty as charged. The district court imposed the maximum sentence, five years at hard labor, with a recommendation for the Intensive Incarceration Program, La.R.S. 15:574.4 A(2).
