The defendant, Juan Solano, pled guilty to reckless homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 9-3(a); ch. 95½, par. 11-501(d)(3)). In exchange for his pleas, the State dismissed another reckless homicide charge. The trial court initially sentenced the defendant to concurrent terms of 2½ years' imprisonment for the reckless homicide and 1½ years for driving...
