LATCHUM, Senior District Judge.

At the trial in this case, the jury awarded compensatory damages of $500,000 to the decedent's estate and $250,000 for loss of consortium to the decedent's wife for personal injuries Pedro Belardinelli sustained in a three vehicle accident.1 The jury found no contributory negligence on the part of the elderly plaintiff decedent and allocated equal responsibility for the accident...
