Justice HARRISON delivered the opinion of the court:

This appeal was taken by the State, pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 604(a)(1) (134 Ill.2d 604(a)(1)), from an order of the circuit court of Jefferson County granting a motion to suppress evidence filed by respondent, the minor D.D.H., in delinquency proceedings. We affirm.

The sole witness to testify at the May 15, 1990, hearing on the motion to suppress was Officer Rodney Stuart King, Mt. Vernon Police Department...
