On December 2, 1988, Herbert Jones, Jr. and Ronnie McCoy were charged by bill of information with distribution of cocaine, a violation of La.R.S. 40:967(A)(1). On January 9, 1989, the bill of information was amended to substitute Louis McCoy, brother of Ronnie McCoy, as co-defendant. On April 25, 1989, defendant Jones was tried separately by jury and unanimously found guilty. On July 27, 1989, Jones was sentenced to 10 years at hard labor. Jones appeals...
