This is an appeal from a judgment rendered after an adverse jury verdict in a suit brought pursuant to the Federal Employers' Liability Act (FELA), 45 U.S.C. §§ 51-60 (1986). Appellee, Jose Hernandez, filed suit against Southern Pacific Transportation Company (Southern Pacific), alleging that while employed by Southern Pacific, he sustained injuries and incurred damages caused by Southern Pacific's negligence.
