The appellant, Lorenzo White, was convicted of assault in the first degree, a violation of § 13A-6-20, Code of Alabama 1975, and was sentenced to a term of 10 years in the penitentiary. The evidence presented at trial tended to show that the appellant's estranged wife sent her brother (the victim) to the appellant's house to retrieve her clothing and to check on her children, who were still living in the house.
