On May 5, 1984, Randy Cordie killed Delton Silberstein. Three civil actions arose from Silberstein's death. In 1986, Delton Silberstein's wife, Bonnie Silberstein, as trustee for her husband's heirs, commenced a wrongful death action against Big Stone County (Big Stone County File No. C1-84-12066).
