Defendant appeals from his conviction in the circuit court of Lake County, of the offense of murder (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 9-1(a)(1)).

In October 1988 defendant was charged by indictment with the 1983 murder of Eugene "Bo" Green. Count I of the indictment alleged murder during the commission of armed robbery, a felony, in violation of section 9-1(a)(3) of the Criminal Code of 1961 (Criminal Code...
