Cedrick Johnson, the appellant, was convicted of unlawfully possessing a pistol in violation of Ala.Code 1975, § 13A-11-72(a). He was fined $1,000, was ordered to pay $1,000 to the Victims' Compensation Fund, and was sentenced to 40 years' imprisonment as a habitual felony offender. He raises four issues on this appeal from that conviction.
