After his first trial in Lake Superior Court ended in a hung jury, appellee Sean Romero employed a former Lake County deputy prosecutor as his counsel. The State's objection to the former prosecutor's appearance as defense counsel was overruled, and Romero was acquitted in a second jury trial.
