Plaintiffs, approximately 100 migrant farmworkers ("migrant workers" or "workers"), instituted this consolidated action under the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, as amended, 29 U.S.C. § 201 et seq. (1988) ("FLSA"), against defendants, six farm owners in Orange County, New York ("owners").1 The workers seek to recover "rent" deducted from their wages by the owners for the on-site housing...
