Plaintiff was injured on October 20, 1976 while operating an elevator in Orleans Parish Prison. Plaintiff filed two suits against her employer at the time of the injury, the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff's Office, one in tort and one based on worker's compensation. The worker's compensation suit was dismissed by stipulation of the parties.
