On December 17, 1983, the plaintiffs son died in an automobile accident. The plaintiff brought this action individually and as the administratrix of her son's estate against the town of Northbridge (town) alleging that the town was negligent in the repair and maintenance of the bridge on which the accident occurred. A few months after the accident, the plaintiff signed a "Release and Settlement of Claim" by which, in return for consideration of $98,000...
