BACKGROUND

On or about March 9, 1987, Karen T. Bower purchased a 1987 Hyundai GL from Bill Watson Hyundai, Inc. Bower financed the purchase through Ford Motor Credit Company and secured the $14,382.60 note with a chattel mortgage on the automobile.
