A jury convicted defendant, Irving Kolichman, of illegally possessing 18 tablets of diazepam (valium) and 38 capsules of secobarbital (Seconal). (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 56½, pars. 1206(e)(2), 1210(c)(8), 1402(b).) The jury acquitted defendant of the original, higher, charge of possession with intent to deliver.
