LYNCH, J.

The defendant appeals from his conviction of murder in the first degree in the death of Robert Lee Hughes. The defendant challenges, among other things, the admission of certain out-of-court evidence and the judge's charge to the jury regarding the use of prior criminal convictions to impeach the credibility of a witness. We reverse and remand the case for a new trial.
