WEAVER, Chief Justice.

Appellant was found guilty by a jury of the offense of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, cocaine, of less than twenty-eight grams. At the punishment phase of the trial, the same jury found that appellant used or exhibited a deadly weapon, to wit, a firearm, during the commission of the offense or during immediate flight therefrom, and assessed his punishment at life in the Texas Department of Corrections...
