The issue before us in this appeal involves the reach of Illinois' res judicata doctrine. Specifically, we must decide whether an insurer that settles a suit brought against its putative insured can later sue another insurer concerning coverage of that liability, notwithstanding the second insurer's involvement in the original litigation.
