Plaintiffs sued K Mart Corporation to recover for injuries resulting from Mariana Georgescu's fall at one of K Mart's stores in Springfield. She suffered a miscarriage and other permanent injuries, including sterility. Her husband, Traian Georgescu, sued for loss of consortium. The jury returned a verdict in favor of plaintiffs, assessed Mariana's damages at $520,000, assessed Traian's damages at $5,000, and found K Mart to be 80% at fault and...
