Following a bench trial in the circuit court of Du Page County, defendant Ezzard Charles was convicted of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated criminal sexual assault. (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, pars. 10-2(a)(3), 12-14(a)(1).) He was sentenced to concurrent terms of seven years' imprisonment on each conviction.
