Defendant, George Douglas, was indicted for the armed robbery and murder of Robert Burrell on November 29, 1984. After a jury trial in the circuit court of Cook County, defendant was convicted of both offenses. The trial court sentenced defendant to consecutive sentences of 40 and 20 years' imprisonment for the murder and armed robbery, respectively. Defendant appeals the murder conviction...
