Justice BARRY delivered the OPINION of the court:

In 1985 Anthony Holder, defendant, was convicted of murder and felony murder following a jury trial in the circuit court of Will County and was sentenced to a term of natural life imprisonment. On direct appeal, we affirmed the judgment of the trial court. (People v. Holder (3d Dist. 1987), 153 Ill.App.3d 884, 106 Ill.Dec. 700, 506 N.E.2d 407
