This is an appeal from a denial of habeas corpus relief. The applicant, Lonnie Earle Fite, was acquitted of the murder of Robert Walker. The State then obtained an indictment against Fite for "engaging in organized criminal activity": conspiring to commit the offense of aggravated kidnapping of Walker.
